Importance of Maritime Interests as a way for the legal implementation of the Blue Economy in Colombia

Abstract

Colombian maritime interests are defined as the political, economic, social, environmental, and military benefits that the sea offers to society. They became a legal strategic tool for the process of implementing the Blue Economy in Colombia. This article aims to demonstrate how these interests enable the legal implementation of this concept, to protect jurisdictional waters and their resources.
