Abstract

Hydrocotyle verticillata Thunb. Is a shady creeping medicinal herb and commonly used for fever, wounds, colds, cough, sore throat, headaches, and urinary tracts problems. So the present study is focused on phytochemical and pharmacognostic study of Hydrocotyle verticillata. The whole plant subjected to the phytochemical analysis by using standard protocol. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of protein, carbohydrates, lipid, tannin, saponin, alkaloids, phenols, terpenoids, flavonoids, and streroids. In this study to evaluate the nutraceutical properties and pharamacognostic studies of Hydrocotyle verticillata. Parameters such as organoleptic study, extractive value, ash value, fluorescence analysis, macro and microscopic characters, were carried out by using the standard method.
